[dbcp] "nojdbc3" build not available using maven build

Hello,

I'm using commons-dbcp on a Java1.3 environment and so I'm required to 
recompile it with source modification to comment JDBC3 code.
ant build has a jdbc3 detection task, but maven build has no equivalent. 
Maybe a <sourceModification> element can be used to add this, but AKAIF 
it uses the presence of a class in classpath to apply modification, so 
this will not work on maven1.1 (that requires JDK1.4).

Does anyone made experiments about this ?
