Posted by Armand Grillet <ag...@mesosphere.io>.
I have created a ticket and a review request disabling the error messages:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MESOS-8066 and
https://reviews.apache.org/r/62864/.

I have run "OS=ubuntu:14.04 BUILDTOOL=cmake COMPILER=gcc
CONFIGURATION='--verbose --disable-libtool-wrappers --enable-libevent
--enable-ssl' ENVIRONMENT='GLOG_v=1 MESOS_VERBOSE=1' bash docker-build.sh"
after applying the patch on my local machine and it successfully built
Mesos.

Posted by Armand Grillet <ag...@mesosphere.io>.
Error 1, "Module 'ssl' has no 'SSLContext' member (no-member)":
The line caught is part of a function that is only used on Windows (
https://github.com/apache/mesos/blob/4fd018be674ad6badd23f6a1f0baea
2d63fd7974/support/apply-reviews.py#L188). Having this code requires Python
2.7.9: https://docs.python.org/2/library/ssl.html#
<https://docs.python.org/2/library/ssl.html#>

Error 2, "Unexpected keyword argument 'context' in function call
(unexpected-keyword-arg)":
This keyword argument is indeed added in Python 2.7.9
<https://docs.python.org/2/library/urllib2.html#urllib2.urlopen>.

The operating system used for this CI job has a version of Python 2.7 that
is not >= 2.7.9, we should either change the requirements in our bootstrap
script or fix these two errors. Kevin do you have an opinion about what is
the best solution? I have not found a clean way to fix the errors yet and
as Python 2.7.9 is nearly 3 years old
<https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-279/> I think changing our
requirements would be a better solution.

In any case, the two errors seem valid even if they only matter for
developers as they concern a support script, not a Mesos core component.

SSLContext was introduced with Python 2.7.9, looks like this OS uses an
older version. It can apparently be fixed, I will do it tonight.

It appears so. This is another case though where we don't see this occur
when linting locally with the same virtualenv. Armand, do you know why
this might be happening? Is it because the ssl module has c-binding
dependencies that may be different in the CI?

Is this due to any recent python linter commits?
