one more newbie to Tomcat

Hello,

I have been trying to figure out what tomcat does for two days :) I haven't
used it yet. But I installed it on my computer. I had this build.xml in my
working folder and I was using ant to execute my projects before. So now
tomcat has been brought to my work...what difference does it make? Do i need
to make changes in server.xml instead of build.xml in order to set my
projects..I am pretty confused...I really need a simple explanation !
