554 Transaction Failed Spam Message not queued.

I was emailing back and forth to a customer XXX@YYY.com without a problem.
Then somehow one day, the emails were blocked and I get the 554 message. I
know the block is on my end, on the JAMES server, becuase the error reply is
instantaneous. Also zzz@YYY.com fails also, anything@YYY.com fails. I got
the database working with James in an efort to set up the WHITELIST hoping
to allow the emails through, that did not work even thought the database and
WHITELIST are working. ANY CLUES?

Forget it. If you didn't change anything in James (custom mailets) it is
*not* *possible* that James write this: "Transaction Failed Spam Message
not queued."

There is no such string in James 2.3.0 at all, so James cannot write it.

In your "unconnected test" you probably forgot/missed something.

Change your log level to debug (SAR-INF/environment.xml) and look at the
content of the logs (jamesfolder/apps/james/logs) while you do the test.

Stefano

There is no way this is coming from the recpients system, it is coming from
the James Server. I have tried to find a file somewhere whcih has an IP
address or domain name of the recipent and I have found nothing in the James
directory. My installation is running under windows XP and I do have a MYSQL
database working with James. I mentioned before that adding the blocked
domain to the whitelist made no difference. Somehow James thinks this is
SPAM and is blocking my. Any clues?

Well it seems that the mailserver of the recipient rejected the email
because it seems to "think" that this is a spam message. If thats not
the case i whould try to contact the postmaster of the domain.

Norman

Risky assumption, do you recieve a "bounce" message? can you send it
to this list as an attachment?
