In the last three months I tried various versionsrevisions of trunk, but always
with the same result.
I wonder if anyone is actually using 1.4, or if I'm trying something that is not
possible by design (I doubt).
I did a build clean; build (both lenya and cocoon): just to be sure to not
inherit some previous errors.
I logged in as alice in the default publication (which I had NOT imported in the
JCR repository), and opened page doctypes/links.html in authoring view. I
selected Workflow/submit then Workflow/publish, and now the LIVE view shows the
two links.
Back to authoring, as of today (revision 307273) I found it impossible to edit
the files with both KUPU and BXE (see:
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=36298 and
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=36973). I finally managed to
modify the file by pointing the XP DAV client at
http://localhost:8888/default/authoring/doctypes , copying the file to my HD,
editing with notepad (I added a third link), then copying it back to DAV repo.
I must say that in previous revision the built-in editors worked to some extent,
but the final result I'm going to describe was the same.

Now I can see the modified document in the authoring view, but the 'Submit' menu
is disabled under 'Workflow'. I tried 'Publish' (which forces 'publish complete
subtree' if used without a prior Submit). It finished without errors, but the
LIVE section always shows the original page.

If I switch to the 'revisions' tab on the 'SITE' view, I see 'current version'
and 'rollback to this version - view' with the same timestamp. I'd expect the
previous version to have a different timestamp. And actually, if I click on
'View' of the previous version, it shows the new one. Apparently it detected a
change in the file, but failed in keeping the previous version.

Can anyone confirm I'm not drunk, and that what I tried is actually supposed to
work?
