[jira] [Commented] (YARN-9699) Migration tool that help to generate CS configs based on FS

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-9699?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16918547#comment-16918547 ]

Gergely Pollak commented on YARN-9699:
--------------------------------------

Based on our initial brainstorming with [~snemeth] and [~pbacsko] we will investigate an approach which allows us to utilise the current FS XML parsing logic. Our plan is to create the FS queue object structure, and then convert / export the settings based on these objects settings. This way the tool can be a bit more flexible, more resilient to FS config changes, and we can save a lot of code duplication and reduce the number of potential errors.

Also we plan to make multiple phases for this tool, in the beginning we would migrate the most basic settings / features, and then we would move onto more complex configuration options when the basics are done. We will create jiras for the different phases as soon we have the milestones defined.
