authentication using mod_jk and tomcat32

mod_jk does not seem to have (I may be missing it)
functionality similar to mod_jserv wherein you can
specify a shared secret key for communication w/
Tomcat 32. Furthermore, apj12connectionhandler does
not seem to have the facility built in to handle such
authenticated transactions. What is the preferred way
for handling authenticated communications to tomcat
that do not originate from localhost (apropos the
patch for the tomcat killer)? Is this something that
we need to build in?

Thanks.
