[jira] [Created] (IMPALA-7311) INSERT with specified target partition fails if any other partition is missing write permissions

Todd Lipcon created IMPALA-7311:
-----------------------------------

Summary: INSERT with specified target partition fails if any other partition is missing write permissions
                 Key: IMPALA-7311
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-7311
             Project: IMPALA
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Frontend
    Affects Versions: Impala 3.0
            Reporter: Todd Lipcon
            Assignee: Todd Lipcon

If I create a table with two writable partitions, and then add third partition pointing to a non-writable external path, I'm unable to insert to one of the existing writable partitions. This is because HdfsTable.hasWriteAccess() returns false if _any_ partition is not writable. This is in contrast to the behavior implemented by LOAD DATA, which does partition-specific checks.
