invalid XML in SVN log

When I run an 'svn log' on one of my repositories, I recieve:

svn: REPORT request failed on '/svn/myrepo/!svn/bc/3638/trunk' svn: The
REPORT request returned invalid XML in the response: XML parse error at
line 983: not well-formed (invalid token) (/svn/myrepo/!svn/bc/3638/trunk)

I tried a recover. I tried a dump and load. Neither have worked.

I don't know where to look, and how to fix the invalid XML, or really how
it started.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
