Fetch Plain. what it is?

hi all . While i read from

i have view that OPENJPA has Fetch Plain . 
What it is please ?

Fetch Plans allow you to dynamically/statically control which fields are
loaded from the datastore. Please take a read through the OpenJPA user
manual[1][2] for additional details.
