Christian,
Jakarta HttpClient HttpCommon (a set of reusable HTTP primitives that will form
the foundation of HttpClient 4.0) now sports a more flexi2EE
ble API, which among
other things provides a means to inject different HttpDataReceiver and
HttpDataTransmitter (formerly referred to as HttpParser) factories to HTTP
connections, thus enabling a more controlled and customizable
serialization/deserialization of HTTP messages.
http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/jakarta/httpclient/trunk/http-common/?rev=179554
If you are still interested now would be the right time to submit patches to
enable default HttpDataReceiver impl to optionally restrict a maximum number of
characters per HTTP line.
