I'll bet you're using Xerces 1.3.1 .. there's a bug in 1.3.1 that makes
it unusable with Apache SOAP. Please try a newer (or older) 
version of Xerces.

Ouch, the call failed:
  Fault Code   = SOAP-ENV:Client
  Fault String = Unable to resolve namespace URI for 'xsd'
