   It looks like cordova-android v8.0.0 is hardcoded to use an older version of `cordova-plugin-splashscreen` (v4.0.3) - the latest version of this plugin is now at 5.0.3.
   
   This caused an issue in cordova-ios, I needed the latest `splashscreen` version of 5.0.3 to fix issues with splash screen images.  I don't know if it causes issues with Android devices, but just wanted to point out the embedded dependency is an older version.
