[users@httpd] ProxyRemote authentication

Hello,
I am trying to use the apache mod_proxy module for caching (with
ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse).
I have a remote proxy that requires authentication and I didn't find any
way in the configuration
to specify authentication data.

I saw a few posts on this mailing list asking about the ProxyRemote
authentication, but they remain unanswered.
I wanted to ask again before writing the patch if it is possible to
setup apache to authenticate against a remote proxy.

Thanks
Roman Gavrilov
