REPORT #583 Details.

Project: Tomcat
Category: Bug Report
SubCategory: New Bug Report
Class: feature
State: received
Priority: high
Severity: critical
Confidence: public
Environment:
   Release: Tomcat3.2
   JVM Release: 1.3
   Operating System: Windows2000
   OS Release: Windows 2000
   Platform: win32

Synopsis:
cannot send more than 8K to the servlet

Description:
I installed Tomcat 3.2 under Windows2000 with IIS, using out-of-process configuration.
I prepared primitive servlet where doPost method only stored received data to a new file. Also I prepared primitive sender class. This class only reads file and sends it to the servlet.
I can send file with size under 8K in a loop so many times, as I want.
With size under 80K I can send only one ore two times.
Then client just hangs up.
With size more than 80K I can not send at all.
According documentation of tomcat I tried to use for JVM parameters Xmx Xms. I also tried to configure thread pool. It does not help much.
To be sure that I do not have problems with my servlet and client, I have installed jrun and have done the same experiment with jrun. With jrun I can send file with size 1M and more in a loop without any problems. It looks like to me, that I did not tune something for Tomcat.
