[jira] [Created] (ARTEMIS-6291) The user CLI commands ignore baseDir JAAS option

Domenico Francesco Bruscino created ARTEMIS-6291:
----------------------------------------------------

Summary: The user CLI commands ignore baseDir JAAS option
                 Key: ARTEMIS-6291
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARTEMIS-6291
             Project: Artemis
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Domenico Francesco Bruscino
            Assignee: Domenico Francesco Bruscino

The user CLI commands (user list, user add, user remove, user reset) delegate to PropertiesLoginModuleConfigurator on the broker side. When that class resolves the paths to artemis-users.properties and artemis-roles.properties it always uses the broker etc directory (the folder containing broker.xml) as the base, ignoring the baseDir option that PropertiesLoginModule (via PropertiesLoader) honours.

PropertiesLoginModule resolves property-file paths with the following priority:
 # The baseDir option from the JAAS login-module configuration
 # The parent directory of the java.security.auth.login.config system property
 # No base (path is relative to the JVM working directory)

PropertiesLoginModuleConfigurator only ever uses the broker etc directory, so when baseDir is set explicitly in login.config — or when the login.config file lives in a directory other than the broker etc directory — the user management commands fail to find the correct property files.
