[jira] Created: (INFRA-2004) ipv6 address published for

ipv6 address published for www.apache.org but not reachable
-----------------------------------------------------------
Key: INFRA-2004
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-2004
Project: Infrastructure
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: public (Regular issues)
Components: HTTP Server
Reporter: Iustin Pop
Priority: Minor
Hi,
I've recently enabled ipv6 for my home network and it seems that www.apache.org is not reachable over ipv6, even though it published an AAAA record. This makes the site not work for ipv6-enabled users by default, since browsers will use preferentially this address.
Of course, this might also be a problem with my environment, in which case my appologies for the wrong report. I'm also not sure about the component (HTTP server? website? there's not "network" one).
$ telnet -4 www.apache.org 80
Trying 140.211.11.130...
Connected to eos.apache.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
^]
telnet> c
Connection closed.
(not a problem)
$ telnet -6 www.apache.org 80

Joe Schaefer commented on INFRA-2004:
-------------------------------------
We were performing maintenance on the ipv6 host when you filed this report.
Is it still an issue now?

> Hi,
> I've recently enabled ipv6 for my home network and it seems that www.apache.org is not reachable over ipv6, even though it published an AAAA record. This makes the site not work for ipv6-enabled users by default, since browsers will use preferentially this address.
> Of course, this might also be a problem with my environment, in which case my appologies for the wrong report. I'm also not sure about the component (HTTP server? website? there's not "network" one).
