How much can Lenya handle?
Hi!
We are using VIP-Content Manager Version 5.x from Gauss Software (Now
Livelink Web Content Server - VIP Edition from Opentext).
Because this Software is little out of date, we need to get the most
recent Version from Opentext or a equivalent Product.
I think Lenya is a very interesting alternative.
I now need some Information about what Hardware is intended to use for
a defined value of Objects.
As example:
We have about 15000 Objects in our Intranet.
Our Intranet consists of html-, php-, ms-word-, ms-excel, ms-ppt-,
pdf-, image-files.
We ve about 50 Publishers and up to 1000 Employees using the Intranet.
Till now, we ve a Sun Ultra Sparc with 2x 450 Mhz and 2 Gig of Ram.
Will Lenya run well with this Hardware for our amount of
Objects/Users?
Can I find some Informations about this somewhere?
Thx

this should be fine. you'd want to use the new XMLHTTP sitetree
implementation though. also, smart caching on the reverse proxy makes a
huge differece.
try determining number of concurrent users.
http://nzz.ch has about that amount of publishers, with way more content
though. they use mod_lenya for smart caching, as far as i know.
