[jira] [Comment Edited] (WHIRR-533) Add Oozie as a service

Tom Melendez edited comment on WHIRR-533 at 5/25/12 8:23 PM:
-------------------------------------------------------------

Usage:
- copy src/main/resources/functions to whirr functions dir
- copy target/*jar to whirr lib dir
- whirr launch-instance --config oozie.properties

We wouldn't want to include this in whirr as is by any means, but if there is interest I'll take over the task and make it ASF compliant for real.

With the above said, it does work, with these caveats:

Notes:
- Currently doesn't do anything with the oozie config files
- Installs extjs to enable the web interface
- I use CDH, so it sets up that repo and uses that
- only tested on Ubuntu, but since I borrowed code from the CDH installation and Tom White's github example, I expect it will work on RHEL too.

[jira] [Updated] (WHIRR-533) Add Oozie as a service

Tom Melendez updated WHIRR-533:
-------------------------------

    Attachment: whirr_oozie_service.tgz

We wouldn't want to include this in whirr as is by any means, but if there is interest I'll take over the task and make it ASF compliant for real.

With the above said, it does work, with these caveats:

Notes:
- Currently doesn't do anything with the oozie config files
- Installs extjs to enable the web interface
- I use CDH, so it sets up that repo and uses that
- only tested on Ubuntu, but since I borrowed code from the CDH installation and Tom White's github example, I expect it will work on RHEL too.
