[all] [dbcp] fun with line endings
I just cancelled a release vote because the source distros were
getting line-ending mangled. It looks to me like some components
try to get unix line endings for tarballs and Windows crlf for zips
(including DBCP, as currently configured), but most don't.
Shouldn't maven just do this automatically? Assuming the answer is
no, what is the right way to configure it? Pointing me at some
working assembly descriptors would be most appreciated.

I now see from the archives at least the final lf issue was present
in the 2.0 release and this looks like the work of
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MASSEMBLY-637, which was has been
fixed in v 2.5 of the assembly plugin. I will see if bumping the
version fixes the problem.
