Alpah this weekend.

This is a reminder to everybody who is developing code in the Apache web
server that we are rolling an alpha release this weekend. It was supposed
to be tomorrow, but I think we are likely to delay for a day or two. The
reasons for the delay are relatively small.

1) Doesn't compile on Windows. The latest network_io code has broken
windows. This should be easy to fix, but we need to give somebody the
time to fix it.

2) Mod_proxy. I want a working proxy in the last alpha. This should
work by end of today or early tomorrow, so I am willing to hold an alpha
for it.

3) Time issues on my part. Tomorrow is a VERY busy day for me, so it is
easier for me to roll on either Saturday or Sunday. When we know what is
going on with Windows, we'll decided which day we roll on.

Ryan

I take it back... It builds for me. I'm happy.

The Apache workspace compiles fine for me (except for mod_isapi and
maybe some other module that tends to be broken on my VC++ 5.0 setup),
but the server and client projects don't build. There are unresolved
references to apr_create_socket (server) and apr_getaddrinfo
(client). I don't know if there is something wrong with those project
files or with aprlib.def. I'll be in the office today and maybe you
or Allan can help me straighten it out.

I'll take a look at this tomorrow.

This is done now.

This is done now, although it isn't a great proxy yet. I am planning to
announce mod_proxy is in pre-alpha stage in the alpha announcement.

Not resolved, so the alpha waits a day or two.

Can you post the initial version ASAP? I would really like to get this
filter in so people can play with it, seg faults and all. The sooner the
code is posted, the sooner these bugs are found. :-)

4) I would like to have the rewritten mod_include included. I am in the
debugging phase trying to get some core dumps eradicated. I will be
posting a (buggy?) version today for initial review and hope to have
the rest of the kinks worked out by the end of the weekend. A couple of
days would be more than helpful.
