Flume agent start or fail

Hi ,
Can anyone explain me on which property missed in conf file the agent itself not get started ?
Testing
 Configuration missed Agent status Sink type and path missed in conf agent started Flume source type missed in conf agent not started but channel increase event take count when seeing the result in  monitoring 
I am totally confused . please any one clarify why it happening like this
