[Issue 126251] New: Writer crashes every time I open a document (included)

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126251

          Issue ID: 126251
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Writer crashes every time I open a document (included)
           Product: Writer
           Version: 4.1.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P5
         Component: open-import
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: florinc@bezeqint.net

Created attachment 84675
  --> https://bz.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=84675&action=edit
The file that crashes the Write.

The attached file is OK (no indication of any corruption). The Write stops
responding about 10 seconds after opening it. This is a file created a few
weeks ago, maybe not with 4.1.1. A new file does not create any problems.

Key, Brinzing, thank you. This only confirms that the file is OK. So, what's
the problem? By the way LibreOffice opens it no problems....

I also had a problem with the file on Windows 7 Home Premium X64 with:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 560 @ 2.67GHz, 2667 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4
Logical Processor(s) and Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB.

The file opened, but within a few seconds it froze and only could be closed by
a force quit. I renamed the profile and restarted AOO and let it build a new
profile and the file opened with no problem.

Regards
Keith

Thank you all,

A new profile solved the problem, but my work space was not mine!!! So I
started to rebuild from the old one until I found two add-ons that caused the
problem. One, a search add-on from 2007, and another a Language Tool. A quick
look at the website of the Language tool revealed that it is designed for
LibreOffice!!!

Now, IMHO, it is a sign of poor design if a new version does not check for
add-ons compatibility. The Firefox does it, and does it well.

Decide for yourselves.

Regards,
Florin.
