Serializing a DOM-document with Namespaces

Hey guys

I have a problem converting a DOM document into a string with 
namespaces.

Now I use XMLSerializer while setting the .setNamespaces(true).

But this has been deprecated. Any suggestions for a better way (and 
more standards compliant / common API interface).
