Popup on click of a button...

I need to popup a small window with some message on click of a button. 
I have a form and on its submit, I wanna do some processing and then based 
on the results, I need to show a 'successful' or 'error' message in a 
popup window. 
Could some one tell me whatz the best way to implement this functionality? 

I know of the PopupLink component, but am not sure how I can adapt it to 
my need... Any thoughts?
