[users@httpd] Problems with netscape 6.x/7.x for Apache 1.3.x

Hello Team,

In apache 1.3.31 (could be with any 1.3.x) while
accessing a page I am getting 501 (not implemented)
error. The error.log shows "Invalid method in
request".
 
This happens only with netscape browser (version 6.x,
7.x) and not with 4.x.Even with 6.x and 7.x it does
not happen always but it occurs frequently.In IE it
does not occur at all.

An interesting thing this when I used "ErrorDocument
501 /some.html" for netscape 6.x/7.x I do not get the
customized page(some.html) at all and surprisingly, I
get the original page that I want (meaning there is no
501 error occuring).

Please let me know if anyone has any clue.
