[jira] [Commented] (GUACAMOLE-331) Provide API support for
downloading/uploading Guacamole protocol streams via HTTP

{quote}The way this stream intercepting works is non-trivial, and doesn't lend itself well to being part of the common API.

Hi Michael
I’m trying to bring this very interesting download feature into our implementation of the Guacamole application.
So far I managed to implement our rest services and replicated the TunnelResource/StreamResource classes that instantiate a UserTunnel intercepting the requested stream on the Guacamole tunnel.
So far so good, I can see the rest request coming to the server, for example right after a print operation, the stream intercept begins but after the first ack (with an OK status) nothing happens :(
By comparing this behavior with the native Guacamole application behavior, the difference is that on the latter I can see a number of blob instructions processed and sent to the output stream after the first ack... instead in my case the stream waits forever to be read.
Can you give me some hints on what I’m doing wrong?
Thank you
Ruggero

> Downloading/uploading files over http tunnel is extremely slow (200 kB/s maximum), even though we are present in local network. Tested with both the custom and official clients pointing at the same guacd instance (container).Here is source code for downloading files:
> {code:JavaScript}
> $(".management table").on("click", ".fs-file", function(){
> var that = this;
> var filename = $(".management tbody").children().eq(that.rowIndex - 1).find(".name").html();
> var requestFile = $("#path").html() + filename;
> if ($.inArray(requestFile, window.downloading) != -1)
> return false;
> $(".management tbody").children().eq(that.rowIndex - 1).children().eq(1).addClass("downloading");
> window.downloading.push(requestFile);
> window.fs.obj.requestInputStream(requestFile, function(stream, mimetype){
> stream.sendAck("Ready", Guacamole.Status.Code.SUCCESS);
> var reader = new Guacamole.BlobReader(stream, mimetype);
> removeSearch();
> reader.onend = function(){
> var blob = reader.getBlob();
> blobDownload(blob, filename, requestFile);
> }
> });
> });
> {code}
> We have also tried the official guacamole client, however there appeared to be no such problem.
