default namespace delcaration on aggregation

Is it possible to define a default namespace on an Aggregation in the
pipeline?
 
I'm probably way off base but AggregateNode.Part has 'element' as well as a
'nsURI' members so I tried the following without any success:
 
<map:aggregate element="root"
nsURI="http://developer.envisn.com/xmlns/envisn/netvisn/" label="xsltdev">
