[jira] [Updated] (CASSANDRA-7180) Investigate mutation testing for unit tests

C. Scott Andreas updated CASSANDRA-7180:
----------------------------------------
    Component/s: Testing

> Investigate mutation testing for unit tests
> -------------------------------------------
>
> Key: CASSANDRA-7180
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-7180
> Project: Cassandra
> Issue Type: Test
> Components: Testing
> Reporter: Russ Hatch
> Assignee: Russ Hatch
> Priority: Major
>
> We might get some useful information from mutation testing tools, possibly PIT (http://pitest.org/). The basic idea is to seed faults in the code and check to see if the unit tests are able to catch them. If we can get this up and running, perhaps it could be run periodically on cassci.datastax.com.
