The Big Combo Patch

The patch has been thoroughly tested and polished with 3.2.2 and
3.2.3 on a production server, and is expected to be compatible
with the rest of the code. Nevertheless, as it touches 8 modules
and slightly modifies some of the internal interfaces to modules
AsyncLoop and Dns, a bit of caution is warranted. When new uses
of AsyncLoop are contemplated (e.g. new plugins), please mind
that some additional arguments (although optional, with sensible
defaults), and extended results are being passed around.
