[jira] [Updated] (SPARK-9678) HTTP request to BlockManager port
yields exception
Sean Owen updated SPARK-9678:
-----------------------------
Priority: Minor (was: Major)
Component/s: PySpark
Issue Type: Improvement (was: Bug)
Summary: HTTP request to BlockManager port yields exception (was: Exception while going through quick start)
I'm able to reproduce this by browsing to the BlockManager's port in a browser. You're not intended to do this; it's not a UI. The quick start does not tell you to do this. Hence this is not a bug as it doesn't cause a problem. Still might be nice to not have an exception in the logs, but, even that doesn't seem that improtant

> I was going through the quick start for spark 1.4.1 at http://spark.apache.org/docs/latest/quick-start.html. I am using pySpark. Also the exact version that I am using is spark-1.4.1-bin-hadoop2.4
> The quick start has textFile = sc.textFile("README.md"). I ran that and then the following text appeared in the command line
