To reproduce the issue generate a gradle project with the [Spring Initializr|http://start.spring.io/] scaffolding web service and open the {{HELP.md}} file, the last line shows some garbled chars after "_Gradle Build Scans_" text instead of a hyphen.
The {{HELP.md}} file should be opened with *UTF-8* encoding while it has *Windows-1252* encoding.
