[jira] [Created] (ARROW-11490) [C++]
BM_ArrowBinaryDict/EncodeLowLevel is not deterministic
Weston Pace created ARROW-11490:
-----------------------------------
Summary: [C++] BM_ArrowBinaryDict/EncodeLowLevel is not deterministic
Key: ARROW-11490
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-11490
Project: Apache Arrow
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Benchmarking, C++
Reporter: Weston Pace
Assignee: Weston Pace
This benchmark is pretty unreliable if you run more than one iteration. Even though it is setting a constant seed each time it is not clearing the old values from the previous runs and so it ends up running on different data each iteration which can have drastically different results.
