I would also like to see
typedef wchar_t XMLCh.

I find it *very* cumbersome to deal with converting from narrow to wide (not to
mention that doing reinterpret_cast and the like make keeping each line < 80
columns very hard), and it only makes matters worse that the rest of my system
was not compiled with -fshort-wchar.
