Question: you've replaced DisMaxRequestHandler with StandardRequestHandler and uses of defType ... but StandardRequestHandler is just an empty subclass of SearchHandler ... is there any reason not to just use SearchHandler directly?  (for that matter: does anyone remember why we didn't deprecate StandardRequestHandler?  .. I actually thought we had.)

Comment: we should probably move the "spellcheck" <component> declaration (and thus the "/spellCheckCompRH" <requestHandler>) to after the explanation of what components are.
