[users@httpd] Number of threads of Apache

Hello gurus,

I am using Apache web server insralled in soalris 8 and is working fine.But 
the problem I face is the number of threads keeps on 
growing and finally it occupies max % of cpu and even
apache server stops functioning.

My MaxClients=100.

This is my swap and memeory and now the apache threadis 70

Pls suggest me a solution for this problem.
