java code gen; CUSTOM CODE overwrite

Hi

I'm new to Velocity so dont be mad if I ask something stupid but i cant find
anything about this in documentation.
I would like to use Velocity for building java code. What trobles me is how
does Velocity recognize for examle if user added new metod in generated java
file and how to ensure that this method is not overwriten in next template parsing.
