   > The gen-begin etc markers are replaced by whitespace when the file is read into the editor so that character offsets are the same in the read / stripped source.
   
   `//GEN-*` is replaced with whitespaces when the file is saved, isn't it? So, Is it important to keep the same offset? I don't think so... Is it meaningful to leave whitespaces?
