[jira] [Created] (CASSANDRA-14730) Transient Replication:
Forwarding host in remote-DC should act as DC-local coordinator
Benedict created CASSANDRA-14730:
------------------------------------
Summary: Transient Replication: Forwarding host in remote-DC should act as DC-local coordinator
Key: CASSANDRA-14730
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-14730
Project: Cassandra
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Core
Reporter: Benedict
Fix For: 4.x
Even if we upgrade only to the necessary transient hosts (CASSANDRA-14729), we still need to send the mutation a second time to that DC, since we only send transient writes directly at present. The remote forwarding coordinator could instead track success/failure, and send the extra write themselves.
