[jira] Created: (MYFACES-685) Error in displaying on a page
Error in displaying <t:inputCalendar> on a page
-----------------------------------------------
Key: MYFACES-685
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-685
Project: MyFaces
Type: Bug
Components: Tomahawk
Versions: Nightly
Environment: RSA running MyFaces JSF implementation and Tomahawk Components using Nightly Build for 2005-10-06
Reporter: Brendan Conner
When displaying one of our pages that has a <t:inputCalendar> component (with client-side rendering), our WebSphere console displays the following messages:
[10/10/05 10:44:33:808 CDT] 5c75407b WebGroup I SRVE0180I: [esprsoAaWeb] [/esprsoAaWeb] [Servlet.LOG]: /jsp/module_maintenance/createModule.jsp: init
[10/10/05 10:44:34:871 CDT] 5c75407b AddResource W org.apache.myfaces.component.html.util.AddResource Response has no <head> or <body> tag:
[ServletException in:/layouts/menuLayout.jsp] org/apache/commons/lang/StringEscapeUtils'
This was not a problem with earlier nightly builds (e.g., the one from 2005-08-15). It is only a problem on pages that contain <t:inputCalendar>, and the problem goes away when this component is removed from the JSF page.

If that's the case, someone should update the
http://myfaces.apache.org/gettingstarted.html page with that version
requirement.

OK, the key was to get the *latest* commons-lang.jar file. We already had one, but it apparently wasn't recent enough. Once we replaced it with commons-lang-1.2.jar, then everything worked fine.
So this bug can be closed out. Is that something that someone else has to do? I don't see an option that allows me to do it myself.

In Myfaces 1.1 a new dependency was introduced: commons-lang.jar. org/apache/commons/lang/StringEscapeUtils is a Class from that package. Could you verify if you have commons-lang.jar in your classpath?
