James Mitchell closed WW-2542.
------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Hi, sorry, but this is not a bug. Do not use the struts-apps as the parent pom.

Please ask about this on the users list for further clarification.

> maven build for multiproject fails because of ${pom.version} entry in struts2-apps-2.0.11.pom

> Key: WW-2542
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/struts/browse/WW-2542
> Project: Struts 2
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Build Management
> Affects Versions: 2.0.11
> Environment: maven 2, Struts 2.0.11, Eclipse 3.3.0
> Reporter: Volker Karlmeier
> Priority: Critical
>
> When building a Project with parent entry
> <parent>
> <artifactId>struts2-apps</artifactId>
> <groupId>org.apache.struts</groupId>
> <version>2.0.11</version>
> </parent>
> build fails, because struts2-apps.2.0.11.pom contains entry
> <dependency>
> <groupId>org.apache.struts</groupId>
> <artifactId>struts2-core</artifactId>
> <version>${pom.version}</version>
> </dependency>
> when using multiproject build, ${pom.version} is replaced by the version of the parent pom.
> If there is one than more parent, and the pom.xml of the parent of the project that includes the dependency to
> struts2-core (for example) has the version 1.0.0, maven searches for
> struts2-core-1.0.0, which of couse is not found.
> Better insert real Version number into pom.
> Thanx
