Google Drive allows users to create documents and folders using whatever characters they want.

Things like:

' Routine Chart g4 Name/Another Final Draft.pptx'

'LEARNING EXPECTATION '

 

The ideal would be to have the leading and trailing spaces trimmed and the illegal characters replaces with "_", which is the default behaviour for the official Google Drive Backup & Sync desktop client.
