[jira] [Commented] (JS2-1296) Password Generator Goes into Infinite Loop

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JS2-1296?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14044873#comment-14044873 ]

David Dyer commented on JS2-1296:
---------------------------------

In terms of ease of use when setting up a new portal/project would make sense to either A) declare the credential validation bean in the administration.xml as in an internal bean to the password generator or B)set the pattern to the passwordgenerator and have it set it to the validator, this presents some problems with different implementations of the validator (eg. SimpleCrendentialPasswordValidator) not using a regex pattern.

> If a bad regex is provided in security-spi-atn.xml, the password generator goes into an infinite loop. Fix this by putting a max retry constraint
