Website Issues
Folks
Noticed today when trying to find a particular piece of Tinkerpop
documentation that there are a number of issues around the Tinkerpop website
particular with regards to branding and meeting the Incubator website
guidelines
Firstly tinkerpop.incubator.apache.org does not provide any information on
how to get the code from Apache infrastructure instead only pointing users
to the Tinkerpop GitHub account and not the Tinkerpop Apache repository
mirror
>From the GitHub Tinkerpop account page you are redirected to
http://tinkerpop.com which makes zero mention of Apache and gives users no
indication that Tinkerpop is now an Apache project. It is OK to maintain a
non-Apache site outside of the ASF but not if it pollutes the Apache brand.
Tinkerpop.com should either redirect to the Apache site or should be clearly
distinct from the Apache site while acknowledging the Apache brand
appropriately - see http://www.apache.org/foundation/marks/pmcs.html for
notes on how a PMC is expected to manage their brand.
Please see the Incubator Podling Web Site Guide -
http://incubator.apache.org/guides/sites.html
The obvious issues on the current site(s):
* Most of the links on the Incubator site are broken
* No link to the Apache License (please link to the canonical license at
http://apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0)
* Missing some project information e.g. committer list
* No links/instructions for obtaining the source code from the ASF Git
repository
* No link to report issues (I'm aware that the JIRA migration has not
happened yet so this one is fair enough)
* No instructions on how to contribute

Hello Rob,
I spent this morning and knocked out your bullet list:
http://tinkerpop.incubator.apache.org/
Next, here are my comments to your notes:
1. We will kill the old TinkerPop3 GitHub presence once the issues have been migrated to JIRA (happening this weekend).
- I will also "clean up" in there to make sure people know that TP3 is now at Apache.
2. We want to give ASF tinkerpop.com and tinkerpop.org. How do we do this?
3. Once we have our first release the broken links will point to real artifacts.
- However, I connected our doc links as we now have doc deployment working.
- I will also make sure to update the old TinkerPop site with a "TinkerPop has moved to Apache." Right now, its the only way to download TP3.MX artifacts since we can't link to them via Apache TinkerPop's website.
Any other issues you see, please bring them up.
Thank you,
Marko.
