#local directive and 1.4

I downloaded and re-built velocity with the local directive today
(http://tinyurl.com/ogl3).  Everything worked great - nice work.  Now
I'm using Maven and my jar file is named 1.4-dev.  Is there any harm in
replacing Maven's (ibiblio.org) 1.4-dev jar with mine (that includes the
local directives)?
