[~busbey] thanks for taking a look! Re checkstyle errors.. Some of these checkstyle errors are from following the codestyle used at the particular piece of code (see, for example, ZooKeeperWatcher: L 115). 

bq. Error	design	Variable 'regionNormalizerZNode' must be private and have accessor methods.	115

Are the guidelines suggest to follow the proper checkstyle as per checkslyle config in this situation, or to conform with the codestyle around? Just want to confirm.
