Corba and JDK9+

Hi,

I just noticed that JDK9+ builds fail as those builds depend on a
previously deployed cxf-rt-bindings-corba from the JDK8 build, e.g.:
https://builds.apache.org/view/A-D/view/CXF/job/CXF-Master-JDK11/267/console

Regards
Dennis

I’m not sure exactly what you need. Geronimo’s Yoko orb project includes an api jar as well as implementation although it’s a slightly higher corba version than the jre included. Although “works” in corba seems to depend on exactly which api method you want to use, the yoko orb is used in IBMs Liberty app server.

Hello

I heard the magic word "Corba" ;)
With https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CXF-7054 I did some findings
related to Sun and JacORB implementations, but I didn't continue with the
findings... Personally I'd like to fix this, but I understand that this
technology is not cool anymore (however, it was kind of Microservices
Architecture back then...).

I don't have much spare time to work on this, but maybe you could create
CXF jira issue with very low priority and assign to me?

Hi Dennis,

As corba API was removed since JDK11, and I can’t find a equivalent 3rd party lib so far as replacement, so with JDK11 we can’t support Corba.

We will see if we can for CXF 3.3.1, but I doubt it as Corba is quite old(though absolutely has glorious history)
