7.0.4 release plans

Hi,

Are there any plans for releasing 7.0.4 ? It has quite a lot of important
fixes and it would be great to have them GA. Also tomcat in 7.0.3 is quite
old (8.5.11) and there have been several security fixes in tomcat since
then [1][2].

Kind regards,
Svetlin

Hello Jon,

If there's nothing new in TomEE 7.0.4 SNAPSHOT since 15th of Aug, then
I am fine : i'm going to do some tests this this snapshot, hoping
final version will come soon... thank you very much for your efforts!

Mind you, the last commit was on August 9th, so probably not a lot of point
in doing a deploy. If you think something is missing, let me know and I'll
kick that off. Note to self, I need to try and find time to work on the
JSTL stuff at the weekend. :-)

I'll deploy a new snapshot. I know there has been an issue with the

going on there too.

Hello,

I mean there's "nothing" new since 15th of August in

Is there another link where latest SNAPSHOT can be downloaded?

I think we don't depend on snapshots except surefire and we can downgrade
on 2.19 so compared to 7.0.3 we don't have any regression and can release
as soon as somebody has time (and connection ;)) to do it. We can want to
review the deps and upgrade a few before (like johnzon out of mind) but
nothing really blocking compared to 7.0.3 AFAIK.

I know and honor the effort in open source development. And if there is no

My intention was not to pressure anyone but to get information about the
dependencies or blockers for the release. I checked out the page with JIRA
issues but I can't determine which of them have to be resolved for a new
release.
Thats why I asked that questions to get a better understanding of the

While I appreciate where you're coming from, I'm not able to give you a
definitive date. I'd like to resolve an issue around JSTL before releasing
if I can, as that has broken since 7.0.3 I believe.

Please understand that while I'm happy to do a release, its a significant
spare time commitment. I have been unwell for the last couple of weeks and
unable to move forward with the JSTL issue or a release without that issue
fixed - I apologize, but hope you understand.

Do you wait for the Apache 8.5.21 like suggested?
Are there any other blockers?
Who takes that decision und is authorized to rollout a release?
Is there another place like a project status site where I can get this
information?

There are quite a lot of important improvements I urgently am waiting for

Hi,

I'd suggest to wait until

to get more info if it will be fixed in a recent release.

Hi

I'll give folks an opportunity to shout in case we're waiting on anything I
don't know about. Assuming that there are no blockers to release
highlighted, I'll kick off the release. I have a couple of fixes I want to
look at for 1.7.x and then I'll kick off a 1.7.5 as well.
