## Description\n\nThis backports commit 1ca1f9c0b9136e43b2c53e415df1a38fd9c1d154 from apache/iotdb#12978 to the dev/1.3 branch.\n\nThe fix indexes and matches path nodes containing non-trivial wildcards such as d* when applying modifications, handles null nodes in PathPatternUtil.hasWildcard, and accounts for the additional index in memory usage.\n\n## Verification\n\n- PatternTreeMapTest: 2 tests passed\n- Targeted Maven reactor test: 26 modules successful, 0 failures\n- Spotless and Checkstyle passed
