[jira] [Closed] (DRILL-3842) JVM dies if drill attempts to read too many files in the directory that blow up heap

Deneche A. Hakim closed DRILL-3842.
-----------------------------------
    Resolution: Cannot Reproduce

Although heap usage still goes up it's still below the JVM limit and it doesn't die. We may want to open a different JIRA to explicitly reduce heap usage of the metadata when querying a large number of parquet files

> Run {{select count(*) from t1}} where t1 directory consists of 1.9 million little parquet files. The outcome: drillbit is dead and out of working set.
